NotebookLM is now Gemini Notebook. The rename is not cosmetic — it moves the product formally into the Gemini family, which carries implications for how the tool surfaces in Google's product ecosystem and how it evolves alongside Gemini model updates.

For builders who rely on NotebookLM for document-grounded research, source synthesis, and audio overviews, the core workflow remains intact. The rename aligns the product with the same model lineage powering Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Workspace, and the Gemini API. That alignment matters: updates to underlying Gemini models now flow into Notebook more directly, rather than through a separate release cycle.

The consolidation also positions Notebook closer to the API surface engineers already use.
